Crime check confirms Agradaa’s prison transfer set for this week

Popular evangelist and self-styled spiritualist Nana Agradaa, born Patricia Asieduaa, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for defrauding her followers through a money-doubling scheme.
However, her transfer to prison has been delayed due to administrative procedures, the Crime Check Foundation has confirmed.
According to court proceedings, Agradaa invited members of her congregation to a spiritual program where she promised to double any amount of money they brought. Dozens of churchgoers responded, contributing significant sums with the hope of receiving a financial miracle. However, they received nothing in return, sparking public outrage and a legal investigation that led to her sentencing.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Crime Check Foundation, Ibrahim Kwarteng, explained that Agradaa’s sentencing took place on Thursday evening, just before a public holiday on Friday, which stalled the administrative processes required for her incarceration.
“Certain legal and procedural documents, including the warrant for her transfer, need to be finalized before she can be moved to serve her sentence,” Mr. Kwarteng said, adding that she is expected to be transferred to prison later in the week.
Meanwhile, rumors circulating on social media claiming that Agradaa was attacked in prison by one of her victims have been debunked. Mr. Kwarteng stated unequivocally that she is not yet in prison, and thus reports of an attack are false.
Her husband, Pastor Eric Oduro Aslamah, has since spoken publicly, expressing solidarity with his wife. He said their church will continue to operate in her absence, urging members to remain steadfast in their faith.
