Salisu hands AS Monaco huge boost with return to training

By Victor Kwawu

‎AS Monaco, the French Ligue 1 giants, have received a boost with the swift return of Ghana international Mohammed Salisu, who is set to feature in their upcoming clash against Stade Rennes.

‎Salisu had left the Black Stars camp prior to their second international friendly against South Korea due to a knee injury, a bilateral medial collateral ligament sprain, as reported by the Ghana FA.

‎However, according to reports in France, Salisu’s injury is not serious, and he has been permitted to join Monaco’s first-team training.

‎The Ghana international’s return is a huge boost for Monaco as they prepare for their Ligue 1 clash against Stade Rennes this weekend. Having returned to training, Salisu could feature in the highly anticipated match.

‎The 26-year-old defender has regained his starting spot at Monaco, having started in the last seven games for the French outfit this season. He had struggled to secure a regular place in the starting lineup last season, making only 24 appearances across competitions.

‎Salisu joined Monaco in summer 2023, signing a five-year deal with the Principality club. Since then, he has made 47 appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

‎With his return, Monaco can expect a strong performance against Stade Rennes, especially given Salisu’s impressive form this season.
