Salisu hands AS Monaco huge boost with return to training

AS Monaco, the French Ligue 1 giants, have received a boost with the swift return of Ghana international Mohammed Salisu, who is set to feature in their upcoming clash against Stade Rennes.
Salisu had left the Black Stars camp prior to their second international friendly against South Korea due to a knee injury, a bilateral medial collateral ligament sprain, as reported by the Ghana FA.
However, according to reports in France, Salisu’s injury is not serious, and he has been permitted to join Monaco’s first-team training.
The Ghana international’s return is a huge boost for Monaco as they prepare for their Ligue 1 clash against Stade Rennes this weekend. Having returned to training, Salisu could feature in the highly anticipated match.
The 26-year-old defender has regained his starting spot at Monaco, having started in the last seven games for the French outfit this season. He had struggled to secure a regular place in the starting lineup last season, making only 24 appearances across competitions.
Salisu joined Monaco in summer 2023, signing a five-year deal with the Principality club. Since then, he has made 47 appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
With his return, Monaco can expect a strong performance against Stade Rennes, especially given Salisu’s impressive form this season.
