Black Stars will shine at 2026 World Cup – Kofi Adams
Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, is optimistic about the Black Stars’ chances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. Ghana has secured its fifth World Cup appearance after topping Group I in the qualifying series.
The 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico, will feature 48 teams, with Ghana earning one of Africa’s nine automatic slots.
Kofi Adams believes the Black Stars are well-prepared for the tournament. “We went to previous World Cups to learn, and we’ve learned something. We’re more than prepared for next year’s Mundial, and we’ll come back with something great,” he said at an event hosted by GWM (Great Wall Motors).
Ghana’s best World Cup performance was in 2010, reaching the quarterfinals, but they’ve failed to progress beyond the group stage since.
Adams’ comments come after the Black Stars’ back-to-back defeats to South Korea ( 1-0) and Japan in the Kirin Challenge Cup.
