Advans Ghana Savings and Loans has posted a remarkable financial performance for the first half of 2025, recording a 400 percent year-on-year increase in profit.
The results underscore the success of its accelerated growth strategy and operational discipline.
According to its H1 2025 results, profit rose from GHS5.4 million in the first half of 2024 to GHS23.1 million during the same period this year.
Management attributes the performance to aggressive lending, prudent cost control, and sustained improvements in operational efficiency.
Strong Lending Activity to MSMEs
Central to the institution’s growth was its focused lending strategy targeting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Between January and June, Advans Ghana disbursed more than GHS408 million in loans to over 7,500 MSMEs, representing a 59 percent increase compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
This momentum drove a 72 percent year-on-year expansion in the gross loan portfolio, which closed at GHS473 million by the end of June. Notably, 37 percent of these loans were granted to first-time borrowers, reflecting the company’s mission to broaden financial access and deepen inclusion across the country.
Robust Revenue and Asset Growth
Revenue streams showed strong growth across the board. Net interest income climbed by 59 percent, buoyed by higher loan volumes and improved yield management. Non-funded income, derived from fees and commissions, rose by 20 percent, reflecting increased client activity and uptake of multiple products.
Total assets grew by 46 percent year-on-year to GHS627.7 million, reinforcing balance sheet strength and investor confidence.
“This achievement has been made possible by the exceptional dedication and hard work of every member of our team. We are delivering on our mission to empower businesses, create jobs, and improve livelihoods, driving real economic and social progress in the communities we serve,” said Guillaume Valence, Managing Director and CEO of Advans Ghana.
Deposit Growth Reflects Public Trust
Client deposits surged by 57 percent year-on-year, underscoring growing public confidence. The institution’s enhanced digital banking platforms contributed to this growth, with digital transactions increasing by 40 percent over the period.
A notable development was the launch of the MyAdvans App, enabling clients to manage accounts, access information, and transact securely from anywhere in Ghana. Advans Ghana now serves more than 142,000 active clients nationwide, with a growing presence in urban, peri-urban and rural areas.
Advancing Gender Inclusion
Women-led businesses accounted for 61 percent of total clients served in the first half, underscoring Advans Ghana’s commitment to gender inclusion.
Through its AdvansHER initiative, the institution provided financial literacy training to over 100 women entrepreneurs nationwide during the reporting period.
