Tomorrow isn’t promised — Efia Odo reflects on dark Wednesday

Popular Ghanaian socialite and media personality Efia Odo has shared a heartfelt message in the wake of a string of tragic events that have shaken the nation, now being referred to as “Dark Wednesday.”

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Efia Odo reflected on the fragility of life after news broke of multiple fatal accidents across the country on Wednesday, August 6.

The devastating incidents included a military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight individuals, a tricycle accident that killed five people, and a deadly intercity bus collision.

“More deaths happen daily; these are just the ones that have been reported. That’s why we should live a life full of love, cuz tomorrow isn’t promised,” she wrote.

Her words struck a chord with thousands of followers, many of whom echoed her sentiments in replies and retweets, using the opportunity to express grief, solidarity, and hope.

The tragedies, which occurred across different regions in a single day, have sparked national mourning and reflection.

Citizens are calling for improved road safety measures and better emergency response systems. Government officials have declared a three-day national mourning period to honor the lives lost, particularly in the military crash.
