Miss Ghana UK 2025 Shares Journey of Resilience

Miss Ghana UK 2025, Sheidelle Annor Yeah, has opened up about her inspiring journey through pageantry, describing it as a path shaped by resilience, self-belief and pride in her Ghanaian identity.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Highway 10.19 on ZED FM, Sheidelle revealed that although she once considered contesting in Miss England, she ultimately chose to represent Ghana because of her strong cultural roots and upbringing.
“It’s true, I considered doing Miss England, but when I thought about it, I just thought like, I am Ghanaian,” she said, adding that her mother played a major role in influencing her decision and encouraging her to embrace her heritage.
The beauty queen described pageantry as more than physical appearance, stressing that etiquette, confidence and influence are qualities that define a true queen. According to her, pageantry provides young women with a platform to inspire others, build confidence and represent meaningful causes.
Sheidelle disclosed that her journey with Miss Ghana UK began in 2023 and lasted nearly three years before finally culminating in victory this year. She explained that despite investing time, effort and resources into rehearsals and preparations, the competition suffered setbacks for two consecutive years due to internal challenges that forced organisers to cancel the finals.
“But as you can see, I didn’t give up, and it’s paid off, and here I am today as Miss Ghana UK,” she stated.
Reflecting on the disappointments, she admitted that the second cancellation made her question whether pageantry was truly meant for her. However, she chose to persevere despite seeing many contestants withdraw along the way.
“The second time, it was a bit like, hmm, am I meant to do this? But I stuck through it,” she added.
Sheidelle also spoke about dealing with stereotypes often associated with beauty pageants, noting that she focused on staying grounded and avoiding distractions. She encouraged young people to remain true to themselves and avoid blindly following societal pressures.
Speaking about returning to Ghana as Miss Ghana UK 2025, she described the experience as emotional and empowering. She said every visit to Ghana makes her feel connected and proud of her roots.
Beyond pageantry, Sheidelle highlighted her collaborations with fashion designers, hairstylists and charitable organisations, particularly initiatives supporting education for underprivileged children. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to use her platform to positively impact lives and inspire young women both in Ghana and abroad.
