Samsung Unveils Galaxy S26 Series at Unpacked 2026

By Lois Amanor

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S26 series at its first Unpacked event of 2026, held at the NsuomNam Restaurant in Accra. The event brought together influencers, content creators, business executives, and the media to witness the unveiling of the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra, and the new Galaxy Buds 4.

The Galaxy S26 series is powered by Samsung’s most advanced Galaxy AI yet. Described as intuitive, proactive, and adaptive, the AI is designed to simplify everyday tasks such as managing plans, finding information, and refining content. As Samsung’s third generation of AI smartphones, the devices handle complex processes in the background, allowing users to focus on results rather than the technology itself.

One standout feature of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is its Privacy Display. This innovation limits side angle viewing without the need for a separate screen protector. The display remains clear from the front but restricts visibility from the sides, helping shield on screen content from nearby onlookers. Samsung says this is part of its commitment to user privacy and convenience.

Speaking at the launch, Musa Hassan, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Ghana, described the event as a milestone. “It is not just unveiling a new device, it is our first official encounter with you. Today, we are moving from the era of smartphones to AI smartphones, AI that responds. The new Galaxy S26 series understands context, adapts to your daily activities, and reduces the number of steps from your intent to action. AI is here, and it starts with S26,” he said.

The Galaxy Buds 4 were also showcased, offering improved sound quality and seamless integration with the new phones. Guests at the event had the chance to experience the devices firsthand through live demonstrations and displays.

Samsung emphasized that the Galaxy S26 series is designed to make technology more human centered, reducing effort and making everyday digital tasks smoother. The phones are expected to be available globally on March 11, 2026.

With this launch, Samsung aims to set the tone for the year, positioning AI smartphones as the next big step in mobile technology.
