Interior Ministry Extends Aptitude Test for WASSCE Applicants

The Ministry of the Interior has extended the aptitude test period for Category C (WASSCE) applicants under the 2025/2026 Centralised Services E-Recruitment Portal, following technical challenges encountered by some candidates during the online process.
In a notice issued on Saturday, the Ministry explained that the decision was taken to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all applicants who experienced difficulties submitting or completing their tests.
The mop-up exercise began on Saturday, February 21, 2026, and will run according to a revised service-based schedule. Applicants seeking to join the Ghana Immigration Service are scheduled to take their tests from Saturday, February 21 to Monday, February 23. Candidates for the Ghana Police Service will write their exams from Tuesday, February 24 to Wednesday, February 25.
Meanwhile, applicants to the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Prisons Service will take their aptitude tests between Thursday, February 26 and Friday, February 28, 2026.
The Ministry further announced that a general mop-up for all categories — A to C — has been scheduled for Sunday, March 1 to Monday, March 2, 2026. Results of the aptitude test are expected to be released on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Affected applicants will receive SMS notifications directing them to log into the recruitment portal and retake the test within the new timeline. However, the Ministry clarified that candidates who have already successfully completed the aptitude test — representing 82 percent of applicants — will not be permitted to access the portal again until the official release of results.
To address concerns and provide additional guidance, the Ministry also announced that a live social media engagement session will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. The session will be led by a technical facilitator to respond to questions regarding the aptitude test and the broader recruitment process.
The Ministry urged all applicants to follow the revised schedule strictly and rely only on official communication channels to avoid misinformation.
