GSS Urges Households to Budget Carefully as Inflation Declines; Calls on Gov’t to Stabilise Food Supply

The Ghana Statistical Service has issued fresh recommendations to households, businesses, and government following the release of the November 2025 inflation report.

With inflation falling to 6.3%, the lowest since the 2021 rebasing, the GSS is urging households to take advantage of the declining inflation environment to improve savings, budget cautiously and avoid unnecessary expenditure.

For businesses, the Service recommends investing in efficiency, reducing waste, strengthening local supply chains and passing cost savings to consumers where possible.

On the government’s side, the GSS advises maintaining fiscal discipline, with a particular focus on stabilising food prices. This, it says, can be achieved by improving storage, irrigation and transport systems, and addressing regional disparities in market access.

The recommendations come at a time when Ghana is experiencing its 11th consecutive month of falling inflation, signaling improved macroeconomic stability.
