Ghana, Saudi Arabia finalize 2026 Hajj arrangements at Jeddah Conference

The government, through the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG), has confirmed that final preparations for the 2026 Hajj have been completed. This follows the signing of important agreements between Ghana and Saudi Arabia during the 2026 Hajj and Umrah Conference in Jeddah.
A statement from the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Waqf, Nawaf Bin Mohamed Al Maawda, said he and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, officially signed the 1447 Hajj Agreements and Arrangements. This agreement is seen as a key step in preparing for next year’s pilgrimage.
The signing took place during the 5th Edition of the Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition in Jeddah. Minister Al Maawda thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman for their support to pilgrims worldwide.
PAOG highlighted that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, together with the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP), continues to focus on improving pilgrim services through better coordination, digital solutions, and engagement with stakeholders.
The conference introduced modern approaches for documentation, mobility, and accommodation for the 2026 Hajj. Over 50 officials and guests from various countries participated in more than 10 specialized panels, discussing best practices and collaboration for managing Hajj operations.
“Minister Al Maawda futher highlighted that the success of the 2026 Hajj preparations builds upon the achievements of previous conferences, which continue to attract global stakeholders, researchers, and experts in Hajj management. The forum provides an opportunity to explore the future of Hajj operations and improve services for pilgrims worldwide,” parts of the statement read.
The Ghanaian delegation described the conference as an important event that strengthens cooperation between Ghana and Saudi Arabia, ensuring a smooth and efficient pilgrimage experience for Ghanaian Muslims.
