Yaw Yeboah placed on administrative leave by MLS over rule violations

Two Major League Soccer clubs, Los Angeles FC and Columbus Crew, will be without the services of two influential players for the next few days or weeks.
Ghanaian international Yaw Yeboah has been placed on administrative leave by MLS due to alleged breaches of league regulations.
The Los Angeles FC winger and Columbus Crew midfielder Derrick Jones have been suspended from team activities and matchday involvement pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
In a statement, MLS confirmed the decision as a precautionary measure while reviewing potential violations.
“Major League Soccer has placed Los Angeles FC midfielder Yaw Yeboah and Columbus Crew midfielder Derrick Jones on administrative leave pending a league review of potential violations of MLS rules,” the statement said.
Both players are prohibited from participating in team activities and competitions during the review. Yeboah, who joined LAFC in January 2025, has been an influential figure for the team, delivering consistent performances and crucial goals.
The league has not disclosed details of the alleged breaches, and both players will remain sidelined until the investigations are concluded.
