Naomi Raine, Chandler Moore exit Maverick City Music
Two of Maverick City Music’s leading voices, Naomi Raine and Chandler Moore, have officially announced their departure from the award-winning worship collective.
The news broke on Monday, 6 October, after both artistes shared heartfelt statements on their respective Instagram pages, expressing gratitude for their time with the group while signalling a new chapter in their individual journeys.
Naomi Raine, known for her powerful vocals and songwriting contributions to hits such as Jireh and Promises, shared that the decision came after “a lot of prayer and consideration.”
“I’ve decided that now is the best time to share that I’m no longer a part of Maverick City Music. Being a part of Mav truly changed my life. What started as a group of folks singing in a shed turned into something I could’ve never imagined,” she wrote.
Naomi reflected on the group’s humble beginnings and expressed deep appreciation for the collective and its fans.
“Every song I was a part of was written and sung from a pure place, just me wanting to please God. Now, I believe God has given me the green light to step into what He’s calling me to do individually… This isn’t really an ending, but a new beginning,” she continued.
Similarly, Chandler Moore, another key founding member and worship leader, shared his emotional farewell, describing the move as a “bittersweet decision.”
“These last two years I’ve been locked in on what really matters… in my life and in my career. With that, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to end my relationship with Maverick City Music,” Moore wrote.
Moore expressed immense gratitude to his fellow group members and supporters, calling them “legends” and “family.”
He acknowledged that the transition was not easy, noting that Maverick City was something he “poured his heart into.”
“It’s almost like saying goodbye to your own kid. The dream hasn’t changed. I’m stepping into this next phase ready to share my story and make music that helps people feel a little more human, a little more understood, and a little less alone,” Moore added.
Although neither Raine nor Moore explicitly stated the reasons behind their exit, both emphasised that their departure was prayerfully considered and rooted in personal growth and fresh vision.
Maverick City Music, founded in 2018, quickly became one of the most influential collectives in contemporary worship, known for breaking denominational and cultural barriers through spirit-filled collaborations. The group has earned multiple Grammy Awards and international acclaim for redefining modern worship music.
