A/R: Two missing after canoe accident on Offin River
Two men have gone missing after a canoe carrying six people capsized on the Offin River near Achiase in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. when an inexperienced paddler reportedly lost control of the vessel.
Four passengers were successfully rescued from the water, while efforts to locate the remaining two continue.
Personnel from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) responded to the scene and temporarily suspended rescue operations on Thursday evening, resuming the search on Friday, September 26.
Rescue efforts are currently underway to locate the two missing men.
