Dreams FC coach Winfred Dormon bemoans slow start in Hearts of Oak defeat

The head coach of Dreams FC, Winfred Dormon, bemoaned his team’s slow start in their Ghana Premier League clash against Hearts of Oak following their defeat on Monday afternoon.

In a Week 2 encounter against the Phobians, Coach Dormon and his side suffered a 1-0 loss after conceding within the first 15 minutes.

Speaking after the game, the coach said conceding an early goal affected his team’s chances of victory.

He believes that although Hearts of Oak’s pressing made the game difficult, his side played well and should not have lost the match.

“We started the first half a bit slow. We wanted to play in Zone One, Zone Two, and Zone Three. Of course, we knew beforehand that Hearts is a pressing team, so this game was going to be difficult, and then, against the run of play, they scored.

“In the second half, we began to open them up, stretching them from the flanks. Our wing play was very interesting, but we lacked the cutting edge. We created a decent number of chances, but the finishing was problematic. Overall, I think it was a good performance from Dreams FC’s perspective, but we need to improve in our final third,” Winfred Dormon said.

Following the defeat to Hearts of Oak, Dreams FC have now lost their first two matches of the new Ghana Premier League season.

Up next, the side will take on Young Apostles away from home.
