Apostle Kwadwo Safo dies at 77

The founder of the Kristo Asafo Church and the pioneering force behind the Kantanka Group, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo has passed away.

He died on Thursday, 11 September 2025, at the age of 77.

The announcement was made by the Safo family and the Kristo Asafo Church, who described his departure as a moment of profound sorrow and reflection for the nation.

Apostle Safo was celebrated not only as a spiritual leader but also as a groundbreaking innovator, philanthropist and industrialist whose contributions transformed Ghana’s technological and agricultural landscape.

Widely regarded as a genius and a national treasure, Apostle Safo’s legacy spans decades of relentless dedication to indigenous innovation.

Through the Kantanka brand, he championed homegrown engineering, manufacturing and scientific advancement, inspiring generations to believe in the power of African ingenuity.

“He was a father to the fatherless, a beacon of hope and a true embodiment of resilience,” said his daughter, Sarah Adwoa Safo, in a statement on behalf of the family.

She emphasised the family’s request for privacy during this time of mourning and noted that funeral arrangements would be communicated in due course.

Beyond his technological feats, Apostle Safo was deeply committed to uplifting communities through education, agriculture and social welfare.

His philanthropic efforts touched countless lives and his spiritual teachings continue to guide many across the country.
