Shatta Wale undergoes spiritual cleansing after EOCO bail

Popular dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has undergone a spiritual cleansing ritual at Teshie Next Door Beach, days after being released on bail following his detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The ceremony, led by the Teshie Gbuglah Mantse, Original Nii Martey Laryea I, is believed to be a traditional rite aimed at removing negative energy and spiritual impurities linked to the artiste’s recent legal troubles.
Shatta Wale, known offstage as Charles Nii Armah Mensah, was granted bail on Thursday, 21 August, after being questioned by EOCO in connection with a luxury Lamborghini Urus allegedly tied to a $4 million fraud case under investigation by U.S. authorities.
According to his legal team, the initial bail amount of GHS 10 million was reduced to GHS 5 million with two sureties.
He is also required to report to EOCO three times a week while investigations continue.
The high-end vehicle was flagged by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice, and later traced to Shatta Wale.
The car was originally linked to Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian currently serving time in the U.S. for his role in a large-scale international fraud scheme.
While Shatta Wale has maintained that he purchased the Lamborghini from a man he identified only as “ZAK,” he has yet to produce any formal documentation to support legal ownership, aside from a customs declaration associated with Amuah.
EOCO is investigating whether the artiste knowingly acquired the car through criminal proceeds or was unaware of its illicit background.
The cleansing ceremony at Teshie was attended by close friends, spiritual figures, and community elders.
