Nigeria beats Ghana to win 2025 Onga jollof battle

Nigeria has officially claimed bragging rights in the age-old culinary rivalry after being crowned winner of the 2025 Onga Jollof Battle, West African Edition.
The highly anticipated competition was organised by Onga Ghana under Promasidor Ghana Limited. It brought together top chefs from six countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon and Niger, all vying for the ultimate title of Jollof supremacy.
At the end of the sizzling showdown, Nigeria’s team emerged victorious, taking home GHS50,000 in cash, a package of Promasidor products and the crown as West Africa’s Jollof champion. Ghana secured second place while Senegal finished third. The contest reignited the long-running debate over which nation makes the best Jollof rice and drew massive attention across the sub-region.
