Health Ministry clears arrears for 321 pharmacist house officers, commits to paying rotation nurses

The Ministry of Health has successfully processed salary payments for 321 Pharmacist House Officers who completed their housemanship in 2024, marking a key milestone in settling outstanding financial obligations in the health sector.

The Ministry has also acknowledged the concerns of the 2024 batch of Rotation Nurses and Allied Health Interns.

These interns began their rotations in May 2024 and completed them in May 2025, yet have not received their salaries.

According to the Ministry, the delay stems from the previous government’s failure to secure financial clearance before the interns were posted.

In a statement, the Ministry said it is working with relevant government agencies to prioritize and speed up the clearance process to ensure the prompt release of all outstanding salaries.

“This initiative is part of our broader commitment to resolving salary arrears across all categories of health workers and making sure every qualified professional is supported to deliver quality healthcare to Ghanaians,” the Ministry noted..

It reassured all affected Rotation Nurses and Allied Health Interns that their concerns are being treated as a matter of urgency. The Ministry added that measures are being put in place to establish a sustainable system to prevent similar delays in the future.
