Asantehene to attend Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert in Kumasi

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed interest in attending Sarkodie’s upcoming Rapperholic Concert, scheduled for September this year in Kumasi.

The announcement came during a courtesy visit by the rapper and his management team to the Manhyia Palace on Friday, July 18, 2025.

The visit was to officially inform the King of the event and seek his blessings.

Otumfuo expressed delight at the initiative and assured the team of his support, stating that he would be pleased to witness the event in person.

Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, was accompanied by his manager Angel Town and Nabil Alhassan of Event Factory. The team presented their plans for the concert and expressed appreciation for the audience granted to them.

The Asantehene also advised Sarkodie and his team to remain focused and humble in their pursuits.

Rapperholic, one of Ghana’s most anticipated annual music events, is traditionally held in Accra every December.

However, this year’s edition returns to Kumasi for a second time, following a successful outing in the Ashanti Region in the past.
