Palermo announce signing of Ghana winger Emmanuel Gyasi

Italy-born Ghana international Emmanuel Gyasi has joined Serie B side Palermo on a season-long loan.
The 31-year-old signed for his hometown club from Empoli, with Palermo having the obligation to make the deal permanent.
The experienced winger is expected to play a significant role for the Rosanero (Pink and Black) as they aim for a return to Italy’s top-flight league.
“Palermo FC announces the acquisition of Emmanuel Gyasi from Empoli FC. The player is moving on loan with an obligation to buy. Emmanuel was welcomed to Palermo by City Football Group, President Mirri, and the entire Palermo family,” the club stated, welcoming the three-time capped Black Stars player.
Gyasi brings vast experience from Italy’s top two divisions, having played a key role in Spezia’s promotion to Serie A in 2020. He made 64 appearances in Serie B, scoring 11 goals and providing 9 assists.
He is also among the few Ghanaian players with over 100 appearances in Serie A, having featured in 178 top-flight games. During that time, he scored 15 goals and registered 12 assists while playing for Spezia and Empoli.
