Thomas Partey set to leave Arsenal after five years in London

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Ghana international Thomas Teye Partey’s contract renewal talks with Arsenal have hit a stumbling block, with the midfielder set to depart the club.

Partey’s current deal with the Gunners expires on June 30, sparking speculation about his future with the North London outfit.

Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to keep the Ghanaian international to bolster squad depth heading into the new campaign. However, with contract renewal talks not progressing, there is a strong possibility that the Ghana international will exit the Premier League giants in the coming days.

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder enjoyed a standout campaign, making 52 appearances in all competitions—his highest tally in an Arsenal shirt by a considerable margin since joining the club.

He contributed four goals and three assists, playing a key role in Mikel Arteta’s midfield setup during their push for silverware across domestic and European competitions.

Partey currently has numerous offers on the table and is weighing his options. He is expected to decide on his next move in the coming days.

The former Atletico Madrid star is currently in Ghana on holiday following the conclusion of the 2024/25 football campaign.
