Showboy slams organizers over Pent Hall week snub

Ghanaian musician Sam Sarfo, popularly known as ‘Showboy’ and a lead member of the AMG Group, has publicly criticized the organizers of the 2025 Pent Hall Week celebration at the University of Ghana for excluding him from the event’s performance lineup.
In a video widely shared on social media, the ‘Ye Blow’ hitmaker questioned the decision to invite Nigerian artist Mayorkun to perform while he, a local artist, was overlooked.
“I’m here in this country, but you didn’t book me. Instead, you brought someone from Nigeria. I’m upset about this, and now you’re asking me to perform for free,” Showboy said in the video.
He also directed his frustration at the University of Ghana students involved in planning and organizing the annual celebration. Showboy expressed disappointment with their lack of support for his inclusion.
“You Legon boys have made a big mistake; many of you will fail your exams. If you didn’t lobby or fight for me to be booked to perform at Pent, you should be worried about your future, ” he added.
Showboy further questioned the decision to select a foreign artist over a local performer, suggesting that Mayorkun offers nothing on stage that he cannot deliver better.
“You booked a Nigerian artist; what can he do that I can’t? Aside from Shatta Wale and Samini, name any Ghanaian musician who performs better than I do. “So tell me, who else is there?” he challenged.
