Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana after undergoing medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
She arrived at Kotoka International Airport at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, where she was welcomed by President John Mahama, senior government officials, and aides from the Office of the Vice President.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s health became a public concern after reports emerged that she had fallen ill on Friday, March 28, 2025. She was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) the following day for medical attention.

A statement from the Office of the President on Sunday, March 30, confirmed that the Vice President had received the necessary care locally and would continue treatment abroad.
Sources close to the Vice President say she is now in stable condition and expected to resume official duties in the coming days.
Her return ends nearly two months of absence from public life, during which she reportedly remained informed on key national developments.
