Black Satellites Head Coach Desmond Ofei has expressed satisfaction with the team’s readiness and mentality following their first training session in Ismailia ahead of Thursday’s vital Group C match against the Central African Republic (CAR) at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Ofei, who led the team through a structured training session at the Tolip 1 training pitch, highlighted the players’ discipline and attitude, noting that their quick adaptation to the new environment is a major boost.
“The attitude today was spot on,” he said. “The boys understand what’s at stake, and the tempo at training reflected that. We’re building toward Thursday with confidence.”
Ghana, currently battling to progress from Group C, will need a strong performance against the Central African Republic to secure a quarterfinal place. With two games already played, Ofei is optimistic that the team’s blend of determination and technical discipline will prove decisive.
He further praised the squad’s professionalism, particularly in how they approached the session after travel.
“Everyone is committed. It’s now about refining the details and being clinical on matchday,” Ofei added.
Ghana, with four points from two matches, will secure a place in the quarterfinals with a win. While a draw could also be enough, coach
Desmond Ofei and his side are aiming for all three points to boost their chances of finishing top of Group C.
