Hearts talisman Hamza Issah ready for Kotoko clash

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra
Hearts of Oak striker Hamza Issah has shifted his attention to the club’s upcoming “big games,” starting with the highly-anticipated Super Clash against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.
The Phobian’s top scorer from last season’s campaign remains determined to help the club succeed this season.
“We are more focused on our responsibilities because there are big games ahead we have to deal with to put smiles on the faces of all Phobians,” Hamza said in an exclusive interview with Hearts Communications.
The Super Clash, scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Baba Yara Stadium, is one of the most intense derbies in Ghanaian football. Hamza emphasized that he is happy at Hearts of Oak and has a smooth relationship with the board, management, technical team, teammates, and fans.
“This comes to me as strange. I have not had any discussions with any individual on such issues as being alleged. If I have any issues, I will walk to the management to trash it out rather than talk to an outsider
who does not have any authority and can’t help me in any way,” Hamza said.
The striker, who has scored three goals in 12 games this season, is looking to improve his goal tally and help Hearts of Oak achieve success in the upcoming games. Hamza’s current form is a far cry from his
impressive performance last season, where he scored 13 goals in 28 matches in the Ghana Premier League.
“I’m unhappy with the few goals I have scored so far. I am rather working extra hard so I can score more to make me extra happy because that will mean a lot,” Hamza added.
