Bank Hospital, Melcom Group collaborate to improve healthcare for premature babies

The management of Melcom Group of Companies has collaborated with the Bank Hospital to mark this year’s World Prematurity Day.
This celebration held under the theme”breaking barriers and access to quality care’’, aimed to shed light on global disparities in healthcare and advocate for equitable access to quality care for preterm babies, irrespective of their birth circumstances or location.
As part of the celebration, Melcom Group donated Cussons Baby Soft Wipes, Cussons Baby Soaps, and Cussons Baby Gift Bags to support the Bank Hospital in its efforts to commemorate the day.
Group General Manager of Melcom Ghana, Francis Sam emphasized the importance of the initiative, describing it as a meaningful step toward improving the lives of families with newborns, especially those born prematurely.
He explained that the programme was deeply emotional and impactful, as many parents had faced significant challenges to bring their children safely into the world.

He highlighted the dedication of the hospital’s staff and their role in providing essential care, noting that the partnership reflects Melcolm’s broader commitment to supporting healthcare initiatives.
Francis Sam also pointed out that the hospital’s efforts in prenatal and premature delivery care have been impressive.
He acknowledged the testimonies of parents who expressed a sense of belonging and support due to the exceptional care they received.
Francis Sam stressed that while the medical fraternity has made significant progress, more resources and support are needed to address ongoing challenges.
He noted that their involvement stems from its belief that healthy communities are the foundation of a thriving nation.

Chief Finance Officer, of the Bank Hospital, Grace Awotwe acknowledged the care and support the hospital has provided to families since the opening of its neonatal unit.
She indicated that the hospital will continue to raise awareness about the issues surrounding preterm delivery, ensuring that empathy and support extend to all families facing these challenges.
She also acknowledged the emotional and financial challenges families face during the first critical years of a child’s life, emphasizing the importance of compassion and support.
“Our hospital has become a beacon of hope for many families. Since its opening, we have worked tirelessly to break barriers to quality healthcare. But we know there’s more to be done,” she said
Addressing ongoing challenges, she called for collaboration among stakeholders, including the government, to provide financial and infrastructural support to the hospital.
She expressed optimism that future celebrations would reflect significant progress in addressing these issues. “We will continue to invest in advanced technologies, specialized training, and compassionate care to ensure the best outcomes for all our patients, especially our little heroes.” she stressed.
