Young Apostles coach Asare Bediako resigns after GoldStars draw

Veteran trainer Joseph Asare Bediako has resigned as head coach of Young Apostles with immediate effect after a challenging run in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
His resignation follows the team’s underwhelming performance against Bibiani Goldstars FC on Sunday.
Bediako guided the newly-promoted side to only 2 wins of their last 10 games, drawing 4, and losing 4.
Bediako, a seasoned tactician known for his previous exploits, joined Apostles at the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign with high expectations.
However, the team’s inability to convert matches into consistent victories placed immense pressure on both the coach and the management.
In a brief statement, coach Bediako thanked the club for the opportunity and expressed regret that results didn’t meet expectations.
“It’s been a difficult period for the team. I take full responsibility and believe stepping aside is the best decision to allow new energy to drive the team forward,” he stated.
The club is yet to announce a replacement, but speculation is rife about who will step into the challenging role.
Apostles will need to bounce back quickly to salvage their season and climb up the league table. They are presently just two points above the relegation zone.
