Prosper Ogum blames Kotoko’s defeat to Legon Cities to loss of concentration

Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, blamed his team’s 2-1 defeat to Legon Cities to a lapse in concentration during key moments in the game.
The match which took place on Wednesday night at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium saw the Porcupine Warriors suffer their first defeat of the season.
Legon Cities’ Albert Yeboah opened the scoring, putting the home team ahead, but Kotoko’s Albert Amoah quickly equalized.
However, in the dying moments of the match, Abdul Rahman netted the winning goal for Legon Cities, marking a disappointing end to Kotoko’s unbeaten streak.
Reflecting on the defeat, Ogum emphasized that the players’ loss of focus contributed significantly to their performance.
“I think a slight loss of concentration accounted for our defeat. If you look at the two goals that they scored, I mean it was just loss of concentration,” he said.
Despite the setback, Ogum encouraged his team to move past the loss and focus on their upcoming matches.
“It was an exciting game and a game of two halves. It was not the best of ways to lose especially if you look at the way we played in the second half. It shouldn’t have happened but then it did. We just have to put ourselves together and then move on.”
Currently, Asante Kotoko sits second in the league standings with 15 points. They are set to face Heart of Lions in the Matchday 9 fixtures at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium this weekend.
