Young Artistes Must Step Out of Their Comfort Zones – Nana Poku Ashis

Artiste manager Nana Poku Ashis has urged emerging musicians to move beyond their comfort zones and embrace growth, stressing that both time and music continue to evolve.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz, Ashis emphasized the need for young artistes to constantly improve themselves in order to remain relevant in the fast-changing music industry.
Citing celebrated musician Samini as an example, he commended the artiste’s evolution and professionalism over the years.
“He’s a pro in our business and he’s been top-notch since then. What’s more refreshing now is that it’s a school album, you can hear the polished Samini now,” he said.
Ashis further praised Samini’s maturity and transformation, describing him as a “level-headed man” compared to his early years in the industry.
“These are the things we want to see for our young ones to evolve, because time and music evolve,” he noted.
The artiste manager also advised upcoming talents to develop strong niches and add value to their brands.
“You cannot be a superstar forever. You need to add something to make your brand valuable. Now, when Samini walks into an office to discuss business, they don’t see him only as a musician, they recognize the brand value he has built,” he explained.
Ashis encouraged Samini’s team to continue exploring new creative directions, suggesting that the artiste has the potential to go on international tours and reach new audiences.
Comparing music creation to childbirth, he highlighted that creativity takes time.
“Music is like a baby yet to be birthed. You might expect it in eight months, but it could come at seven or even twelve. Until the mother feels the push, the baby, or the music, is not ready,” he said.
He concluded by commending Samini and encouraging him to continue evolving. “Samini, big ups to you. Let us see a different version,” he added.
