Ghana National Women’s Premier League to start in October

The Ghana Football Association has announced the dates for the National Women’s Premier League, which is set to begin in October.
The league will begin on Friday, October 18, 2024, with matches being played in both the Northern and Southern Zones.
The first round of the competition will run from October 18-21, 2024, to January 24-27, 2025.
The second round is scheduled to begin on January 31-February 3, 2025, and conclude on April 11-14, 2025.
To accommodate the December 7, 2024, National Elections, the WPL will observe a break to allow players and officials to participate in the electoral process.
Also, the league will pause for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The highly anticipated grand finale between the Northern and Southern Zone champions is set for the weekend of May 2-5, 2025.
This early conclusion will provide the eventual winner with ample preparation time for the WAFU B Champions League qualifying competition.
The GFA’s well-structured calendar aims to create a competitive and balanced league season, ensuring fair opportunities for all participating teams.
