“Expect me on the podium”- High Jumper Rose Yeboah sure of medal at the Olympic Games

By Lukman Mumin, Accra

Ghanaian high jumper Rose Yeboah remains optimistic of winning the country its first medal in the competition at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Yeboah, one of the nine athletes to have already secured qualification for the multisport competition, left Ghana for Paris on Wednesday night.

After winning gold at the African Games in Accra this year, she produced a stunning performance with a jump of 1.97m at the NCAA Championship in Eugene last month to make it to Paris.

“Qualifying for Olympics is such a great experience and I am really happy to see myself there to compete for my country Ghana,” she told Joy Sports.

“Looking at my performance I put up at the NCAA, I feel like I will do much better since it’s going to be a competition among ourselves.

“Everyone should expect me qualifying to the finals and seeing myself on the podium. It will be such a great experience if at least I make it to the finals and get a medal.”

The 2024 Olympic Games begin on July 26 and ends on August 11, 2024.
