NDC names campaign team for 2024 Elections
The Functional Excutive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced its National Campaign Team for the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
The Committee finalised the list for the team after extensive consultations and deliberations, during a meeting held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the party , has been appointed as the Campaign Coordinator. He will be supported by Dr. Joseph Yammin, the National Organizer, who will serve as the Deputy Campaign Coordinator in charge of regional campaigns.
Richard Quashiga has been tasked with the role of a Deputy Campaign Coordinator responsible for parliamentary campaigns, whiles Chief Hamilton Nixon Biney serves as the Deputy Campaign Coordinator for Special Operations.
Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer, maintains his role of overseeing the party’s communication strategies. George Opare Addo, the National Youth Organizer, and Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei, the National Women’s Organizer, will manage youth and women’s engagement, respectively. A
Alhaji Cole Younger has been appointed as the National Zongo Caucus Coordinator, focusing on outreach to the Zongo communities.
Professor . Joshua Alabi has been designated as the Head of the Flagbearer’s campaign, with Joyce Bawa Mogtari and Beatrice Annan serving as the spokesperson and Deputy Spokesperson, respectively. Alex Segbefia will lead the running mate’s campaign, supported by James Agyenim Boateng and Eric Adjei, who will serve as the spokesperson and deputy spokesperson for the running mate’s campaign.
The team also includes Richard Anamoo from the NDC’s Professionals Forum, Shine Gaveh representing the Cadres Front, and other notable figures such as Dr. Nashiru Issahaku, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, and Mary Ewusi.
The National Campaign Team will operate under the guidance of a Campaign Steering Committee, which includes prominent party members: Johnson Asiedu Nketia as Chairman, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, Dr. Ato Forson, Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Dr. Kwabena Duffour, Betty Mould Iddrisu, Julius Debrah, Marrietta Brew, Dr. Valerie Sawyer, Sam Pee Yalley, and Alhaji Alhassan Ligbi.
Both the National Campaign Team and the Steering Committee will work under the leadership of the party’s flagbearer, H.E. John Dramani Mahama. They are expected to report to the Functional and National Executive Committees of the NDC as they execute their campaign strategies.
