3rd Edition of Accra Inter-City Homowo Marathon fixed for August 3

The 3rd Edition of the Accra Inter-City Homowo Marathon has been officially scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024, marking another exciting addition to the annual Homowo Festival festivities celebrated by the Gas.

In a statement released by the organizers, Medivents Consult, it was revealed that this year’s race would feature two categories: a challenging 21-kilometer route and a shorter 10-kilometer route.

Endorsed by the Ga Traditional Council (GTC), the event is anticipated to draw top-tier athletes from across the country, promising a thrilling display of athleticism.

Similar to previous editions, the race will commence at the iconic Accra Sports Stadium and culminate at the historic Bukom Boxing Arena, offering participants and spectators alike an exhilarating journey through the heart of Accra.

Adding to the excitement, the event will be preceded by a two-day Sports Fair, providing a valuable platform for sports-related businesses to network, exchange ideas, and showcase their products and services.

Prospective participants eager to test their mettle in this prestigious marathon can anticipate the release of registration details in the coming week.

Additionally, the organizers will soon unveil the official launch date for the race as well as the roster of sponsors lending their support to this grand event.

Looking back at the previous edition, the 2023 Accra Inter-City Homowo Marathon saw Kooga Atia and Juliana Zakat emerge victorious, setting the stage for another thrilling showcase of athleticism and community spirit in the upcoming edition.
