Dreams FC lose to Club Africain in CAF Confederation Cup opener

Dreams FC had a tough start in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Club Africain at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi in Rades, Tunisia.
Despite the loss, the Ghanaian FA Cup winners displayed a commendable performance against the formidable Club Africain.
Facing an intimidating crowd and strong support for Club Africain, Dreams FC couldn’t overcome the two-goal lead secured by the home side in the first half.
Tayeb Meziani and Kingsley Eduwo scored for Club Africain, with Meziani’s goal resulting from a brilliant team move and Eduwo capitalizing on a goalkeeping error by Solomon Agbasi.
Dreams FC encountered further challenges as defender Abdul Jalilu received a second yellow card, leading to his expulsion from the match. Despite this setback, the Ghanaian side, participating in the competition for the first time, demonstrated resilience and attacking intent.
They made nine goal attempts, with four shots on target, and managed 48 attacks, trailing the home side by only two.
While Club Africain dominated possession, Dreams FC’s positive performance provides encouragement for the upcoming matches.
The team, under the leadership of Coach Karim Zito, will now shift their focus to the next game against Nigeria’s Rivers United next weekend, aiming to bounce back with a victory.
