Medeama striker Jonathan Sowah has become the subject of a three-way battle for his signature, with Al Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Pyramid FC expressing interest in the Ghanaian international.
The 23-year-old forward has garnered attention from top African clubs due to his impressive performances for Medeama since joining midway through the previous season.
Al Ahly, the most successful club in Africa and record-holders of the CAF Champions League, have signaled their interest in securing Sowah’s services.
Additionally, Mamelodi Sundowns, a prominent South African club, are closely monitoring the talented player’s situation.
Cairo-based Pyramid FC has also entered the competition, adding to the growing interest in the highly-rated forward.
Among the contenders, Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns are seen as frontrunners, receiving positive reviews for Sowah’s recent performances. The striker had a significant impact last season, scoring 12 goals in 18 matches and helping Medeama clinch the Ghana Premier League title.
His form continued in the CAF Champions League, where he scored in the preliminary round to secure Medeama’s first-ever group stage berth.
Despite the increasing interest and his contract with Medeama extending until 2025, Sowah, who has made two appearances for the Ghana national team, is reportedly considering his options calmly.
The three-way tussle for Sowah’s talents highlights the growing recognition of African players on the continental stage and their desirability among top clubs.
