Cypress Hails Kobby Kyei, Shares Industry Journey Insights

By Esther Korantemaa Offei

Ghanaian blogger Cypress has praised fellow media personality Kobby Kyei for his contribution to the creative space, particularly highlighting his humanitarian drive as a quality he admires. In an interview on Highway 10.19 on ZED FM, he explained that while both operate within the same industry, Kobby’s focus on social impact sets him apart.

“Kobby Kyei is doing something I wish to do but have not started yet, especially the humanitarian side,” he said, noting that their relationship goes beyond friendship into professional support. He added that he has played roles in shaping the journeys of several bloggers, often working behind the scenes.

Cypress also reflected on his collaborations with top personalities and brands, revealing that he has worked with names such as Juliet Ibrahim, Naa Ashorkor, Anita Erskine, and organizations like MultiChoice. Despite these achievements, he admitted he is still striving for a defining career milestone. “I am yet to find the greatest moment I can fully agree on,” he stated.

Discussing his experience in talent management, Cypress noted that handling individuals is challenging due to differing perspectives and expectations. He explained that creative work often requires compromise. “Everybody has their own mindset and what they are looking out for, so you have to balance your ideas with theirs,” he said, adding that allowing individuals to explore their own paths is equally important.

He further highlighted how his early experience in management has strengthened his work as a blogger. According to him, adaptability and continuous learning have been key to his growth. “Everything is a learning process. If I do not know something, I know who to call to get it done,” he explained.

On fashion, Cypress described his involvement as unexpected but impactful, citing his contribution to the Runway Ghana project. “I just bring my ideas on how things should be, and the team builds on it,” he noted.

He also recounted discovering model Araba Sey, explaining that their journey began through social media before evolving into a professional partnership. “We connected on social media and later met at Star FM, and from there, history made itself,” he said.
