Nelson Blay Narkotey was a Level 300 Top-Up Journalism student. He died after he was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver while returning from campus. His death shocked the entire university and left many students and lecturers heartbroken.
His colleagues remember him as a hardworking, disciplined, and intelligent student with great promise. Many described him as calm, focused, and dedicated to his studies.
Since his passing, there have been renewed discussions at UniMAC about the need for stronger student support systems, especially during times of loss and grief.
The university community says Nelson’s death is a painful reminder of how fragile life can be, and how important it is to care for one another.
