Yaw Asamoah Agyei Seals Atalanta Move on Deadline Day

Ghanaian teenage forward Yaw Asamoah Agyei has completed a transfer to Italian Serie A side Atalanta on the European transfer deadline day, joining from EurAfrica in a deal that signals another important step in his budding career.
The 18-year-old attacker has signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with the Bergamo-based club, with an option to extend the agreement by an additional two years, subject to performance and development milestones. Under the terms of the deal, Agyei will initially feature for Atalanta’s U-20 side as he adapts to the demands of Italian football.
Agyei is regarded as a promising young forward with pace, technical ability and an eye for goal, qualities that attracted the interest of Atalanta, a club widely respected for its strong youth development system and pathway to the senior team. The youngster will be aiming to impress at youth level and earn an opportunity to break into the club’s first-team setup in the future.
The move was facilitated by player agency Arthurlegacy Sports, which manages several Ghanaian footballers making strides in European football. Among its notable clients are Cagliari midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana, Viktoria Plzeň forward Prince Kwabena Adu, and former AS Roma striker Felix Afena-Gyan, who currently plays for Turkish side Amedspor.
Agyei’s transfer continues the growing trend of young Ghanaian talents securing moves to top European leagues at an early stage of their careers. As he begins his journey in Italy, the forward will be hoping to develop steadily, seize his opportunity at youth level, and ultimately follow the path of other successful African players who have flourished at Atalanta.
