“I’ll always cherish this privilege” – Osei Owusu on Black Stars debut

CF Montreal’s Prince Osei Owusu is thrilled after making his Black Stars debut, describing it as an “incredible honour” and a moment he’ll cherish forever. The 28-year-old striker came on in the second half of Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to Japan at Toyota Stadium last Thursday.
Owusu took to social media to express his pride, thanking family, coaches, teammates, friends, and fans for their support. “Representing the homeland of my parents fills me with immense pride, and wearing the Ghanaian colours is a privilege I will never take for granted,” he said.
The Black Stars face South Korea in their next friendly match today, November 18, 2025, and Owusu aims to cement a spot in the national team as Ghana gears up for the 2026 World Cup.
