Ghana-South Africa Business Chamber promotes wellness and networking through Running Club

‎By Victor Kwawu

‎As part of its efforts to promote a healthy business community in Ghana, the Ghana-South Africa Business Chamber (GSBC) continues to introduce events that support this vision. The Rainbow Nations Health Challenge is one of its many initiatives that foster networking, health, and well-being among the international business community.

‎The November Running Club event drew entrepreneurs, business moguls, and CEOs from various countries, including Ghana, South Africa, the United States, the UK, the Philippines, Cameroon, and Nigeria, among others, to the Legon Hall. Participants took part in the 5km and 8km walk and run, which was characterized by endurance, determination, and, above all, fun.

‎According to Mr. Grant Webber, President of the Ghana-South Africa Business Chamber, the Running Club is a monthly program that forms part of the Rainbow Nations Challenge, aimed at keeping fit and providing a platform for business executives to interact and exchange ideas.

‎”The Running Club is a monthly run that forms part of our Rainbow Nations Challenge, a networking program for business executives done in a healthy environment. We have fitness classes, but it’s all about networking, developing relationships, whether for business or personal. As you can see, we had probably 50 runners today from easily 20 different countries,” he explained.

‎Mr. Webber emphasized the importance of expanding the disciplines to attract other members. “Various sporting codes attract different types of people and groups, increasing our network and reach. We want to continue being a force multiplier for good in the international business community in Ghana,” he noted.

‎Meanwhile, Mr. Chris Everts, Vice President of the business chamber, hinted at a major running event in the future to promote sports and wellness. “Yes, in the future, we definitely want to look out for an opportunity for a formal running event. We’re thinking of doing a 5-kilometer and possibly a 21-kilometer run. Just two weeks ago, we had the Festival of Fitness event, which was an excellent expansion of the running concept. We’ll certainly consider it for next year’s calendar,” Mr. Everts said exclusively to The New Finder Newspaper.

‎The next Running Club events are scheduled for November 29, 2025, and Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 4 pm in front of the Legon Hall.
