Relegation-threatened Eleven Wonders names J.E. Sarpong as new head coach

Embattled Ghana Premier League side Eleven Wonders FC has confirmed the appointment of seasoned tactician Josef Emmanuel Sarpong as their new head coach, in a bid to revive the team’s fortunes.
The club made the announcement in an official statement released on Sunday, November 2, 2025. With over 15 years of coaching experience, Sarpong takes the helm with a clear mission: to turn around the struggling newly-promoted side after a tough start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Eleven Wonders currently sits 17th on the league table with just two points from their opening eight matches, level with 18th-placed Basake Holy Stars, who have a game in hand. Sarpong replaces Nii Odartey Lamptey, who parted ways with the club following a disappointing run of results that yielded no wins.
Sarpong, known for his tactical acumen and ability to rebuild underperforming teams, will begin his tenure immediately as the team prepares to face Aduana FC in their next league fixture. Club officials are confident that Sarpong’s vast experience, including league promotions and cup successes, will bring renewed energy and focus to the squad.
The veteran coach is expected to inject stability and inspire a turnaround as Wonders aim to climb the league standings. Coach J.E. Sarpong is likely to make his debut in the dugout when Eleven Wonders travel to play Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema Newton on match day 9.
