Faith Porter stuns in ‘Mother of the Soil’ costume at Miss Grand International

Ghana’s representative, Faith Maria Porter, made a powerful impression at the Miss Grand International 2025 National Costume Competition when she dazzled audiences with her breathtaking outfit titled ‘Mother of the Soil – Essence of Ghana.’

Her costume beautifully reflected Ghana’s identity, symbolising the nation’s fertility, vegetation and rich cultural heritage.

Faith wore a flowing emerald-green gown designed to resemble Ghana’s lush landscapes, with details inspired by cocoa pods, yams and Adinkra symbols to represent growth, wealth and wisdom.

Her gold-embroidered bodice paid homage to the nation’s heritage as the Land of Gold, while layers of brass bangles represented royal strength and the proud legacy of the Ashanti Kingdom.

The look was crowned with a towering floral headdress crafted from Ghanaian blooms including hibiscus, baobab and cassava leaves, woven with Kente strips and cowries.

In her hands, Faith carried a flowing calabash from which water gently poured — a poetic tribute to peace and rejuvenation.

The imagery captured the soul of a nation that draws strength and harmony from its soil and traditions.

With every graceful step, Faith channelled the courage of Yaa Asantewaa, the generosity of Mother Earth and the resilience of Ghanaian womanhood.
