World Cup qualifiers: Otto Addo names 24-man squad with two debutants
Black Stars coach Otto Addo has named his squad for Ghana’s final two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
The 24-man squad includes youngster Kojo Peprah Oppong, Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, as well as defender Alidu Seidu all making the list.
Oppong, 21, has been in fine form for OGC Nice in the French Ligue 1, earning his first senior call-up after rising from Ghana’s Division One side Attram De Visser to Europe.
Issahaku returns after an impressive campaign with Leicester City in the English Championship, overcoming an anterior cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him since November.
Seidu also returns to the national team after recovering from a knee injury that kept him out for nearly a year.
Medeama SC midfielder Prince Owusu has been handed a debut call-up following his bright start to the Ghana Premier League.
Ghana faces the Central African Republic at Stade d’Honneur de Meknes on Wednesday, October 8, before hosting Comoros in Accra on Sunday, October 12, as they target qualification for a fifth FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars sit top of Group I, needing just four points from their remaining two matches to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
