MUSIGA launches Ghana’s first all-female music festival

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has announced the launch of SheRhythms Ghana, the country’s first-ever all-female music festival.

The historic festival will take place from 4 to 6 December 2025 at the Alliance Française in Accra, serving as a centrepiece of MUSIGA’s golden jubilee celebrations.

Organisers promise not just electrifying live performances, but also an ongoing movement to reshape the music industry with women at the forefront.

Under the theme “Empowering Her Voice, Amplifying Her Art, Reshaping Her Industry”, the three-day event will showcase a dynamic lineup of female musicians from Ghana and across Africa, cutting across genres and generations.

More than a concert series, SheRhythms Ghana will feature workshops, mentorship sessions, music business masterclasses, and collaborative performances. These activities aim to equip women with the tools to thrive in production, performance, management, and entrepreneurship within the music space.

MUSIGA President Bessa Simons described the initiative as a vital step towards inclusivity:
“This is more than a festival. It’s about giving our women the stage, the recognition, and the opportunities they deserve to shine, just like their male counterparts.”

To bring the ambitious project to life, MUSIGA is partnering with RAM Media Concepts, a prominent events and branding firm.

RAM CEO Augustine Mark called the festival a “platinum platform” designed to elevate women artists and connect them to international audiences.

The official launch of SheRhythms Ghana is scheduled for 29 August 2025, also at the Alliance Française, offering media and fans a first look at the festival’s vision, lineup, and goals.
