Black Sherif’s ‘Iron Boy’ dominates global charts

Ghanaian artiste Black Sherif has cemented his place on the global music scene by becoming the most exported Ghanaian artist in the first half of 2025, according to streaming giant Spotify.
This breakthrough follows the release of his critically acclaimed sophomore album, ‘Iron Boy,’ which has shattered multiple records and rewritten the narrative for Ghanaian music on the world stage.
In a report released by Spotify, 13 out of the 15 tracks from ‘Iron Boy’ featured prominently on its Global Impact list, a ranking of the most exported Ghanaian songs.
Remarkably, the album claimed 15 out of the top 19 spots on the list. This massive international reception has been matched by outstanding chart performance.
‘Iron Boy’ became the first Ghanaian album to spend two consecutive weeks in Apple Music’s Top 50 USA chart and made a historic debut at No. 7 on Spotify’s Global Album Debut Chart.
To date, the album has amassed over 60 million streams on Spotify, while also reaching No. 10 on Billboard’s US World Albums Chart, making it Black Sherif’s most commercially successful project to date.
This is not the first time the Konongo born artiste has turned heads internationally.
His debut album, ‘The Villain I Never Was,’ released in October 2022, debuted at No. 12 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart and produced the smash hit ‘Kwaku the Traveller, which topped charts in Nigeria and dominated streaming platforms across Africa.
