Ex-Ghana assistant coach George Boateng backs Samed Salis at Sunderland

Former assistant coach of the Black Stars, George Boateng has praised the qualities of midfielder Abdul Samed Salis despite a frustrated spell at Sunderland.
The Ghana international, currently on loan at Sunderland, has been limited to only ten matches since joining the Black Cats last summer.
On Tuesday evening, Salis watched from the bench as Sunderland scored late in extra time to advance to the final of the Championship playoffs against Coventry.
Boateng, who was at the Stadium of Light as a pundit for the encounter, believes the RC Lens-owned player has the attributes to excel in England.
“Salis Samed is a very good player and we were lucky to have him at the World Cup in Qatar. He was one of the surprising players that came into the squad and fit in perfectly playing alongside Partey,” he told Tv3.
“Coming to the Championship with Sunderland was difficult because of the injury he had. He had a long-term injury that kept him out for a while, and breaking into the first team has been difficult.
“He has been very unfortunate with injuries but he is a player I think has attributes suited to the English game. If the loan can be extended to next season then we can expect more from Samed given he stays fit because he is a valuable asset.”
