Chairman of the elections committee, Mike Oquaye stated that the party will hold another election on Saturday, September 2 to decide the fate of Agyarko and Addai-Nimoh if neither of the two aspirants drops out.
Responding to the outcome, Dr Bawumia said he is humbled by the emphatic endorsement of the delegates at the just-ended Super Delegates Conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Addressing the media at his residence in Accra on Saturday, Dr Bawumia commended the leadership of the Party, the Electoral Commission and the entire NPP family for the smooth conduct of the polls.
He called for hard work and unity within the Party to ensure a resounding victory in the November 4 Delegates Conference, and subsequently in the 2024 General Election.
Sixteen polling stations with one at the party headquarters were created across the regions for the election, which started from 9am and closed at 1pm.
Data shows that only 20 of the super delegates are government appointees who could not vote in case the Party was in opposition.
All the rest are people who hold party positions, the majority of whom are elected members.
Everyone who goes through elections in the Party and is able to win is a grassroots person.
The data shows that 701 out of the 955 super delegates are grassroots of NPP including 275 constituency chairmen, 272 regional executives, 137 MPs, 17 national chairmen, etc.
This excludes the about 96 diaspora voters who are all elected officers of the parry.
If 96 diaspora voters are add this to the 701, it rises to 797 out of the 955 who are active foot soldiers of the party.
The Super Delegates Congress has 955 voters, whereas the November 4th, National Delegates Conference would have over 230,000 delegates.
Some 927 delegates cast their votes of which four ballots were rejected resulting in 923 valid votes.
The delegates are made up of members of the National Council, National and Regional Executive Committees, Members of Parliament and three representatives from each of the special organs of the party (Youth, Women and Nasara).
The rest are past national officers, three representatives from every branch, founding members during the registration of the Party at the Electoral Commission (EC) and all card-bearing ministers.
