Head coach of Bibiani GoldStars Frimpong Manso has expressed his excitement after leading his team to a surprising victory against Hearts of Oak, securing their first win on the road in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
GoldStars earned a gritty 1-0 win over the Phobians on Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, a result that propelled them to the summit of the league standings with 18 points while maintaining their unbeaten run.
The decisive goal came from Samuel Attah Kumi, while Hearts of Oak had a chance to equalize through a penalty.
However, GoldStars goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi made a crucial save, denying Hamza Issah’s attempt.
Reflecting on the game, Manso, who had seen his side draw their previous three away matches, expressed his happiness and credited his players for the hard-fought win.
“I am excited because this is our first away win,” he said after the game.
“We’ve been drawing in our last three away games and now the fourth one, we’ve got a win so I’m very satisfied, very happy with the result,” the former Ghana legend added.
Bibiani GoldStars will face struggling Dreams FC in their Matchday 9 fixture at DUN’s Park.
