By Eustace Nii AKWEI, Accra

Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams is celebrating a milestone achievement of scoring 100 goals for his childhood club, Athletic Bilbao.

Williams netted in Bilbao’s 2-2 draw with Osasuna in the latest round of Spanish La Liga matches, bringing his total goals for the season to 12.

The 29-year-old showcased his prowess by scoring both goals in Bilbao’s 2-0 victory over Getafe in the preceding round, highlighting an impressive streak for the Spanish-born player with Ghanaian heritage.

His goal against Osasuna marked Williams’ 100th goal for the only professional club he has played for throughout his career.

Reacting to reaching the historic mark, Williams wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page, “One day your reality will be better than your dreams, so much so. 100 goals with Athletic Club. Thanks to everyone. Let’s go for more.”

In the 2023-2024 season, he has amassed 12 goals and three assists in 32 league appearances.

Bilbao’s upcoming fixtures include matches against Celta Vigo and Sevilla on May 15th and 19th, respectively.
